3 hours of life I will never get back

today, I spent 3 hours working on a pl/sql package. A package that should have worked but it didn't. 3 hours of my life. 3 hours of my prime. 3 hours that I could have spent getting jiggy with some ilicit temptress but instead willingly wasted it in the company of a middle aged man, in the attempts of getting some godforsaken package to work. . . . . .In order that you may save a few hours of you life I will impart the solution to my woes:

Oracle 8i pl/sql cursors don't like too many sub-selects and aggregations in one fetch. If you do have too many, it will mysteriously replace recordset field values with each other so that the value of field 5 will equal field 1. No compilation issues. No error message. Just bad data.

By the way

Ok its a bit late for blogging in the technological sense. It was fresh 7 years ago. Now its something your grandfather does after a game of brain-training on his DS lite. Well I don't care. Technology, like fashion, goes in circles. Flared jeans are back in, just like dumb terminals.

In the raging expansion of social networking, blogging has a appreciative quality that I like. Bloggers don't (or rarely) have multitudes of strangers signing their page, congratulating you on being alive, and subsequently supplying you with a link back to their page. The falseness of the 'friends' counter on your facebook homepage is a zeitgeist of contemporary society. Maybe its just a personal choice, but I believe quality is better than quantity. The illusion of friendship is fine for some. I on the other hand am quite happy prognosticating into the darkness, with little chance of reciprocation.

Helllooooooooo out there . . . .

Kickoff

Wow the web wasn't complete without another f%cking blog!!! Here it is. Your day won't be complete without checking in on my elucidating sartorial comments on life. Hmmmmm. Ok maybe not. Maybe these rantings won't bee seen by any other living thing either now or at any point throughout the time-space continuum. Well anyhows, at least my therapist reckons it will be good for me :)

Among other things there will be uninformed opinions (often incorrect and subjective) on varied facets of life and thinking such as sociology, philosophy, psychology, biology, genetics and all things related to technology!!

Hello World. (the humor would not be lost on anyone that has taken programming lessons)
